SnowConvert is now a part of Snowflake. To access SnowConvert for PySpark, you will need to follow the information available on the documentation page here: https://docs.mobilize.net/snowconvert/general/getting-started/download-and-access.
You can still fill out the form on this page to learn more about Growth Acceleration Partners' Snowflake consulting services.
For more information about SnowConvert, you can visit the main SnowConvert product page or visit the SnowConvert Documentation Page.
For more information about how to use SnowConvert, watch our co-webinar with Snowflake.
This assessment will give you an inventory of any objects present in your code, a lineage of how those objects are dependent upon each other, and a summary of how much of your code was converted with detailed analysis to help you understand how much work is remaining to complete your migration. There's no lines of code limit, so give it a shot! Learn more about how to use SnowConvert and use the output by watching this short video:
You will receive an email from Mobilize.Net Studio shortly after you download the tool with your license information (pictured below). The email will also contain more instructions on how to use the tool. Once the install is complete (and you can learn more about installation and setup as well as some valuable troubleshooting tips on our documentation page), you should be ready to use the tool.
What does the Mobilize.Net SnowConvert Assessment Tool include?
The current release serves as a preview of the conversion and assessment capabilities of SnowConvert. You can run any quantity of SQL and/or BTEQ files through the tool, and it will give you an assessment of the SQL that you have imported into the tool along with an estimate of the amount of code (based both on lines of code and object type) that has been automatically converted.
You will also get the complete issues report (for both SQL and BTEQ files) that will detail every line of code that SnowConvert could not convert, and will report on why it couldn't be converted. This report will give you an excellent sense of how much work is left to do. An inventory of objects and lineage of object dependencies is also included to help in planning out a migration. (Remember to watch the demo above to learn more about interpreting the output.)
What does the Mobilize.Net SnowConvert Assessment Tool NOT include?
This is an assessment tool, so it does not include the output code. You can run any quantity of Teradata code through the tool and get all the reports listed above (they are quite comprehensive), but you will not get the actual Snowflake code. If you're interested in using SnowConvert on a migration project, reach out to us! You can reach out to info@mobilize.net, use the chat icon in the bottom right of this page, or fill out the form on our migration services page.
