CONNX for IMS

The CONNX for IMS module provides secure, real-time, read/write SQL access to IMS data sources on z/OS and OS/390. In conjunction with other CONNX modules, you can perform seamless joins between IMS and most other databases.

With CONNX for IMS, a single metadata model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources and applications requiring data access. The result is an enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable, standards-based framework for information access.

The CONNX for IMS distributed SQL engine reduces the workload placed on the mainframe by performing CPU-intensive operations where the CONNX client resides (Unix, Linux or Windows. i.e., remote desktop, Web and/or application server). The database calls are low level and minimize impact on the database processor. CONNX for IMS imports the metadata directly from PSBs and DBDs.

CONNX for VSAM

The CONNX for VSAM module provides secure, real-time, read/write access to VSAM data sources on MVS, z-OS, and VSE. In conjunction with other modules, you can perform seamless joins between VSAM and most other databases.

With CONNX for VSAM, a single metadata model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources and applications requiring data access. The result is an enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable standards based framework for information access.

CONNX performs joins between multiple VSAM files using a single SQL statement, otherwise impossible without custom development, and simplifies manipulation of large arrays through its unique Rotated Array Technology. The CONNX distributed SQL engine uses advanced index optimization to ensure maximum performance when retrieving data from VSAM files.

The CONNX for VSAM distributed SQL engine reduces the workload placed on the mainframe by performing CPU-intensive operations where the CONNX client resides (Unix, Linux or Windows. i.e., remote desktop, Web and/or application server). CONNX for DB2

The CONNX for DB2 Module provides secure, real-time, read/write access to DB2 databases running on MVS, OS/390, z/OS, OS/400, OS/2, Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris. In conjunction with other modules in the CONNX suite, you can perform seamless joins between DB2 data and any other supported database. CONNX ODBC DB2 access is fast and efficient.

With CONNX for DB2, a single metadata model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources and applications requiring data access. The result is an enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable, standards-based framework for information access.

CONNX for DB2 supports the creation of views, which facilitates hiding table relationships from the end user. CONNX views facilitates the creation of heterogeneous joins between multiple disparate databases.

CONNX directly imports your DB2 metadata from the system catalog. In addition, CONNX for DB2 includes support for stored procedures, remote commands, pass through SQL execution and static SQL. CONNX for DB2 performs seamless joins between different DB2 databases, using ODBC, OLE DB, .NET or JDBC.

CONNX for RMS

The CONNX for RMS module provides secure, real-time, read/write SQL access to RMS files on the VAX, Alpha and HP Integrity Servers running OpenVMS. In conjunction with other CONNX modules, you can perform seamless joins between RMS and most other databases.

With CONNX for RMS, a single metadata model can be created that spans all enterprise data sources and applications requiring data access. The result is an enterprise-wide view of data that provides a reusable standards based framework for information access.

CONNX performs joins between multiple RMS files using a single SQL statement, otherwise impossible without custom development, and simplifies manipulation of large arrays through its unique Rotated Array Technology. This distributed SQL engine facilitates truly scalable application development because of the additional processing power gained by the use of the client PC in addition to the database server.

CONNX for RMS directly imports RMS metadata from COBOL copybooks, Digital's common Data Dictionaires, DIBOL, VAX Basic File Description, Powerhouse PDLs and a CONNX Text Specification file format into a CONNX Data Dictionary file (CDD). Once, imported, the target RMS file can be treated as one or more logical tables or views.
